Day 1 Arrival and Pickup at the airport

Day 2Transfer in Nairobi & Fly to Samburu

Transfer from the Nairobi Hotel to Wilson Airport for a domestic flight to Samburu, home to Samburu National Reserve and an abundance of wildlife. you’ll be staying Saruni Samburu is a luxurious resort with six eco-chic villas offering breathtaking views of Mount Kenya and the Kalama Conservancy. You will be accompanied by Samburu warriors who are fervent about their homeland and culture, as this is the only lodge in over 200,000 acres of pristine forest filled with wildlife to explore privately. Saruni Samburu offers a personal and genuinely remarkable safari experience.

Day 3-4On Safari in Samburu National Reserve

During the next two days, you’ll enjoy morning and evening game drives in the Kalama Conservancy, Buffalo Springs National Park and Samburu National Park.

You can expect to see the Big Five, giant herds of Samburu elephants coming to drink at local waterholes, leopards making their lairs on rocky outcrops and packs of endangered African wild dogs exploring the plains below the lodge. The area is also home to rare endemic species, such as the Samburu five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and gerenuk.

You can also enjoy a night game drive in the Kalama Conservancy (this activity is not permitted in the national park), guided bush walks, walking safaris with an armed guide, cultural visits to local villages, trekking excursions up the Samburu tribe’s sacred mountain, Mount Ololokwe, plus visits to local caves to see fascinating rock art.

Day 5Fly from Samburu to Maasai Mara National Reserve

After that, you’ll fly domestically to Kenya’s premier wildlife viewing location, Masai Mara.

Three nights will be spent at Saruni Mara, a five-star resort with five well decorated cottages, a family villa, and a private villa. Located in the Africa:Mara North Conservancy, Saruni Mara provides guests with access to a private wildlife concession that borders the well-known Masai Mara National Reserve.

After unwinding with a complimentary 30-minute back and neck massage at Saruni Mara’s Wellbeing Space, embark on a sunset safari and enjoy sundowners in the bush.

Day 6-7On Safari in the Maasai Mara National Reserve

Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve. This iconic reserve offers amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and it’s highly likely that you’ll see zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo, rhino and elephant. You’ll also see lions, cheetahs and leopards. There may also be the opportunity for a night game drive, where you’ll see nocturnal animals such as aardvarks and honey badgers.

In addition to game drives, there is a wide range of other activities that you can participate in during your time in the Maasai Mara, including cultural visits to Maasai villages and markets, guided bush walks, horse riding, and black rhino tracking experiences. You can also experience a magical hot air balloon flight over the plains of the Masai Mara, followed by a champagne breakfast.

Day 8Depart from Nairobi

Today, your luxury Kenya safari tour comes to an end. You’ll take a domestic flight from Mara to Wilson Airport, in Nairobi, then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in plenty of time for your onward flight.
